The Creatures of Comfort AW18 show saw sporting dainty dresses and smart heels with athletic-style socks. Black styles with navy stripes were the colour pairing of the moment: style with mid-calf length dresses and black boots for easy autumn style.

Sheer difference
Sheer tights are nothing new, but coloured sheers are. The Adam Selman catwalk saw models coupling retro prints with low-denier pink, blue and yellow hosiery, providing a subtle shock of colour without taking attention from the outfits.

Pretty pastels
If bright colours aren’t really your thing, don’t worry – dainty pastels also showed up on the catwalk this season. Think baby pink and blue hues, paired with fun t-shirt dresses and even trainers, a la Jeremy Scott.

Frilly socks
The catwalk brought plenty for sock lovers this season, too. Glitter socks are in, as are cute pastel shades, but the real show-stoppers were the frills that adorned the feet of the models. The great thing about this trend is that you can take it as far as you want: try a plain coloured pop sock with a frilled hem for a subtle nod, or go all out with layers of fabric.
  

Patterns galore
It’s not one for the fashion faint-hearted, but patterned tights are back for AW18 – but they’re significantly different from their subtle fishnet cousins. The new tights are bold, with marble- and tie-dye effects showing off contrasting colours to their full potential – taking this accessory to eye-catching levels.
