Lesson time at SockShop HQ

Back in February I featured six Christmas novelty sock designs drawn by pupils from a local secondary school, which were shortlisted for our ‘design a sock’ competition. The designs were sent off to be made into samples so that we could get an idea of which ones worked best on an actual sock, then choose an overall winner. |
Once we received the samples, it was time to invite the students to the office and let them know who had the winning design and which sock was going to be sold on the SOCKSHOP site this winter. But what the pupils didn’t know – they had all won! Yes, every sample sock had come back looking so good, we just couldn’t choose which was the best. |
After the students were told the good news, they were taken up to SOCKSHOP's picking and packing area to give them an idea of how their socks will be packed off and delivered to customers who buy them. |
We even put them to work and had them pick and pack an order themselves! |
Finally, they were told a bit about the design process, and shown how their drawings were put together on the computer. |
The pupils were then packed off with a goody bag of sweets, samples of their designs, and hopefully a great sense of achievement! :) |
