Angora wool: Falke takes on social responsibility

The disclosures of the animal rights organisation PETA in the past weeks have caused uncertainty among many consumers when purchasing angora wool products. The cruel shearing procedure of rabbits is shocking not only for the buyers of the products. Falke as a supplier of premium textiles has also acknowledged the reporting. As a family enterprise, Falke is always committed to comply with social standards. Besides the responsibility for people and the environment, Falke puts the focus on the fact that animal fibres are only procured from suppliers who guarantee animal welfare and appropriate fibre extraction. Certificates from every supplier confirm that the angora wool processed by the company is obtained only from animal-friendly shearing or combing. In order to guarantee ethically correct production of legwear in the future, Falke has also incorporated these specifications in its General Terms and Conditions of Purchase of angora wool.
