For those multi-kilometre runs, your feet need the comfort, compression, protection and support of a specialist sock; like UYN Run Marathon Zero Socks. Their structure, specially engineered for distance running, is intelligently low friction, comforting to the feet but hard-wearing, created to absorb the continual shocks of footfalls on hard surfaces with areas such as the Achilles tendon being particularly well protected. Smart compression, and targeted compression ‘bandages’ woven in also increase the oxygen supply to the muscles, ideal for long distances.
They are topped by ‘Zero-strangle’ constriction-free cuffs, and include an ‘Ergologic’ footbed, shaped anatomically, placing all cushioning just where it needs to be. Made with Natex,a soft, fast-drying and 100% plant-based nylon fibre, Zerodor odour controlling yarn, and ‘Cool-Air-Flow’ technology, the climate immediately surrounding the foot is optimised.
These were a little cheaper in a sale, but still quite expensive for running socks. They were bought as a Christmas present for my son who is a runner, but I cannot yet comment on whether all their features are worth the money!
