The colours are beautiful and they are very comfortable on the soles of my feet - my three star rating is because the elasticised tops are too tight. Not to the point of being uncomfortable, but definitely to the point of leaving a prominent dent in my legs, and also the colour around the top band looks paler than the rest of the sock because you can see the white of the fabric elastic. Shame because other than this they are a lovely sock. My ankles/calves are not especially thick. I don’t have problems getting high boots on them. I was really hoping these would be a good replacement for some socks of a similar colour I bought from a well known chemist several years ago but which haven't been available in those colours ever since. Those have very soft, comfortable, just elastic enough tops. Hard to find socks like that it seems!

Soft and thick - ideal
Lovely and warm with comfy thicker soles. The only downsides are fluff from them sticks to my feet; and the socks wear into holes underneath fairly quickly. I wear them with walking boots, going for miles twice a day with my dog, so quite a lot of walking before the holes start to appear! Most comfortable socks I've ever worn so certainly worth replacing each time they wear out.
These socks, as was the case with the rest of the socks in my order, were hugely long, certainly not a size 4-8. I do not know what has happened to the sizing, but these are at least an inch longer than the Sock Shop socks which I bought originally - I measured them against a pair I had bought previously, but it was obvious simply by looking at them that they could probably be considered a men's sock. Not impressed.
These socks are really soft and comfortable to wear and make great walking boot socks. The colour choice is good. I usually stock up every Autumn but tend to wear them all year round for hiking. They can be worn over a thin pair of bamboo socks, on their own or under a thicker pair of hiking style socks. I wouldn't be without them.
