These bamboo socks have a good enough grip to stay up (they don't ruckle under your feet) but are suitable for someone who does not want socks which grip their legs for medical or personal reasons. They are comfortable to wear all day long and they are the warmest socks I have ever had, so if you suffer with cold extremities, these are the socks for you (I don't but my daughter does and she agrees). The design change by the manufacturer has resulted in an inferior product that does not meet the advertised specification. The toe seams are more pronounced, the actual sock is baggier than the same ones I bought earlier this year. This means my feel slide around and I get more rubbing.
