Soft, with a slightly padded sole. I introduced my partner to these socks some time ago, buying him a pack of the long ones. I have been wearing the female ones for many years. I suggested recently he try the shorter ones as he was struggling to get 'normal' socks on over his heel. He was delighted with them, and I will slowly replace all his existing socks with these bamboo ones! Wonderful socks!!
