They have specially designed welts that won’t constrict or pinch as they hold up without pressure. I fully intended to recommend these socks to other people in my situation. The socks are beautifully made in a fine knit and looked ideal. They fitted like a dream, but were a bit long for my leg. Then after a couple of hours, I realised that my right leg had a deep weal right round it where the narrow top cuff was over the widest part of my leg. The left leg was fine. I have lymphodema in my right leg. Elastane content may make a sock fit well but I would have preferred a baggy sock to a deep weal on my leg. Apparently it is not possible to buy Sock shop socks without elastane so I cannot buy more as I would have done, nor can I recommend them to the many people that I know who also have my problem. As I said to their helpline, I may have to find a way of knitting my own, - and I hate knitting.
